-=Oregon Arcade, DDR, Other Games Location List (Portland, Springfield)=-
FOR THE COMPLETE LIST OF DDR MACHINES/Some Other Bemani - Visit
DDRFreak.com's Machine Listing
FOR THE COMPLETE LIST OF ITG MACHINES - Visit
Rhythmatic.net's Machine Listing
These are the venues worth mentioning (other venues have threads not linked to):
OREGON
Epicenter
- Klamath Falls (DDR Supernova)
Ground Kontrol
- Portland (DDR Extreme)
Lloyd Center Tilt
- Portland (ITG2 Upgrade)
Seaside Funland - Seaside (ITG2 Dedicab)
Slick Kart and Arcade - Medford (ITG2 Upgrade)
Regional Sports Center in Springfield, OR.
-50cents a play, free entry if you're just playing ITG. R21 Dedicab, owned by manager so no screwy arcade distributor crap. Get cabinet keys from desk if you need to mess with volume (they'll turn it down sometimes since menu timer is off and kids will leave after one song).
KevinDDR Edit: Added machine listings and fixed links.

How much does doubles cost (oh PLEASE let it be the same as single!)?
Yes, Double Premium is on.
Quote
Is the pad kept up? in other words if an arrow has issues, do they fix the prob. right away, or wait forever and a day to fix it?
Yes, Tilt is very good about fixing the pads if you let them know. It might not be done immediately every time, but it does get taken care of relatively soon.
Quote
As of today is it working?
I don't know about today but it was working this weekend.
Quote
heh...how much is a game?
$1 / 3 songs.
Quote
How much does it cost for two players? (not that I'll know anyone. but still quite curious what I'm getting myself into)
$2....
Quote
How popular is it? I mean...if I go on any given day, will there be an annoying line to wait through (coins hanging for dear life on the machine!), or will it be empty (one person to zero in line)? Or what day is the busiest, non busiest?
As a general rule of thumb it seems to be less busy on weekdays of course. Even on the weekends, it's not THAT incredibly busy. Some of the regulars might be there, or there could be noobs playing Bumble Bee Novice, or some anime fangirl playing Monolith Easy and Wake Up Easy over and over. But I doubt you'll ever have more than two people in front of you.
Quote
Is it a carpeted room? Stuffy? No air conditioning? Near a door to the outside world? lol.
No carpet, but it's air-conditioned. It's in the food court and there are bathrooms/water fountains across from Tilt.
Quote
Anyone have any photos?
I'm sure somebody has photos, but I don't have any of the machine itself. Just picture a fairly ghetto upgraded cabinet.
Quote
last, but not least...I heard it's been upgraded, is it R21?[/list]
Yup, but seeing how it's an upgrade cab, you might have issues with your USB card every now and then. (doesn't happen to some people, but it happens to me)

I'm going to miss my hometown, but I've heard so many great things about Portland, and it's too darn (yea I said "darn") expensive living here. Although...1$ for doubles...I hope Portland Tilt can top that! XD *SO hopeful!*
Although it doesn't top that for ITG2, if you enjoy playing Double on Extreme, you can play that for 40 cents at any of the Wunderland locations. Of course, the pads are never perfect...

meow.
So.... I've heard good and bad about Portland's Tilt.
I'm moving up in less than 2 weeks and I'm seriously scared. I'm leaving my ITG, extreme, and SN, here and going to a machine I know nothing about.

(I'm not being nit picky, I'm just curious.)

The pads at Tilt! are more sensitive than anything I've ever played on. It took me 5 songs to get used to being able to register steps with only a portion of my foot when I went there for my first time a couple weeks back.
Hopefully, I'll have an income one day and I'll be able to come back. ;P
Practice makes perfect. But I'd rather be great. ;]

I haven't had that many problems with the tilt pads (and as 'tilt employee' knows, I've played a bunch over the past 3 weeks!) but out of curiousity how much do the different sensors cost?

Good idea; I need to save up for my StepMania machine. xP
Those are hard to put together, unfortunately :x
So are radios, alarm clocks, and digital cameras, but I've been taking those apart and putting 'em together since I was 5.
I'm a n00b at programming, but I'm teh 1337 at engineering and assembly.
I'm still working on electrical engineering, but physics basically boil down to logic that can all be learned to at least some degree with a couple of rocks and sticks, and I guess I've got a knack for those. =D
And I'm not talkin' 'bout no pansy "I took a cheap TV, and some plywood and stuff and put it together; my SM machine is pwn," StepMania machine either. This thing's gonna be the shizzle. =)
I'm gonna plate it in stainless steel and have blacklights on it too, to make it extra sexy.
I'll put some coloured sketches together if you want; I like drawing.
Practice makes perfect. But I'd rather be great. ;]

Don't do that :/ Avalon will eventually get sensors. Don't throw your money to hyenas.

I think I could probably spot ya 8 Betson sensors this summer, when I'm not a poor little shit.
Although Wunderland needs them waaaay more, so I'll offer them to Avalon first.
Practice makes perfect. But I'd rather be great. ;]

I think Ground Kontrol's Extreme is pretty sweet! And Milwaukie's Extreme has been good in the past (4 AAAs in a day? holla). But if you don't want to play Extreme, then you have very few options.
I don't have many complaints of tilt's pads. Some tilt employees play the game and actually do some upkeep on it.
I'm also sad to hear Century 16's Max2 got converted to Supernova. Soo sad.
Milwaukie: Nah, Steve's 225lbness has fucked it up.
Not really, but they're not all that great these days.
Don't go there for anything but DDR and redemtion games, and watch out for the ski ball machines; they rarely work 100% right, and one of them only gives you 3 balls.
Milwaukie pad status: (in display order out of ten): 9/7/10/8/9/9/9/9. Not too sure about the p2 side, but it seems to have an even spread of occasional pad misses when I play doubles. The p1down is getting close to awful, and the only panel that can handle long freezes is the p1up.
I've been trying to get them to just let me actually take the panels off and do some basic maintainance on them, but the manager thinks that they have it taken care of, because one of the employees keeps the pads and screen clean and playable, but she probably doesn't even know what the sensors look like. It's annoying.
@ Tilt Employee: Have you tried Channelbeat sensors? They're cheaper than Betson's or MMB's, and might be better than the PIU ones.
Practice makes perfect. But I'd rather be great. ;]

I don't care much about Century 16's machine, because for nearly a year the screen has been horribly distorted and most of the arrows have maybe one working sensor. That machine is incredibly broken... I nearly failed Jerk It Out since the 1p right arrows doesn't work half the time. I think the pads on the 2p side at Tilt are in great condition and I haven't had any issues with them lately. Ground Kontrol's pads are very nice as well.

I know the Tilt ITG pads isnt the greatest...but if you are looking some perfect machine....go to washington or something because all the machines in Oregon generaly suck. The reason why tilts machine is messed is because it still has some of the ORIGINAL sensors still in it. Of course we buy new sensors but they are third party "PUMP IT UP" sensors. So they don't fit right. We work with what we got. Stop being so picky and learn to play with what you have.
