Re: Avalon

Just so people don't get the wrong idea, it might still be there, but it's been sold.  When I was there last Sunday, they said that it was the last day they could guarantee it would be there.  If people want to have one last dance with it, it would be a good idea to call them and ask if it's still there.  I'm personally probably never going back; the only game left there that I really enjoy is Panic Park.  DMX is fun but not worth the trip and admission.

How long would a while be?

'cause I haven't actually looked around the Avalon since they moved the DMX machine.

pretty sure Iori240 meant Metal Slug 6 instead of Metal Slug X.

As far as Metal Slug goes, I still prefer part 1 the most. X would be second. MS3... well, some people love it but I think it's overrated. Drags on way too long and doesn't feel very fun to me.

Screw Metal Slug though, there needs to be an arcade in Portland with SHOCK TROOPERS.

Last time I was there, they had switched to Metal Slug 6.

Is Metal Slug X the particular favorite around here? We just swapped our MSX cart for Metal Slug 3.

But we may go back once people are sick of 3.

I'm more like 40greats to 30great w/shitloads of combo breakers.  The right side makes me feel tense, so it makes my timing a bit better, but I tend to tap too lightly and my endurance sucks at the same time.

I just feel more comfortable on the left side; it means I get to play more 'cause I'm the only one who plays more than one or two games on the left side. Smiley

I dunno, harder stuff always seems easier to me on the right pad.

Case in point: V Oni on the left pad- 7ish greats. On the right- 1/2 consistently.

Yeah, same here. i love getting random misses/ goods?

Whatever, last time I was at Avalon I could AAA/low SDG things with no trouble. Right side seems to be preferable since the left side gives a lot of pad errors.
The right side at Avalon feels weird to me.  Is it a little off center?  Maybe the pads are just too close to the machine.  I pretty much only play on the 1p side except when playing doubles or when I'm playing with a superior player and he/she wants the 1p side.

Avalon has lost Metal Slug X. no clue where it went...

p.s.

I'm interested as to who this "iori240" character is... someone trying to troll in order to make it look like I'm trolling?

I went there a couple months ago, and the machine wasn't great, but I've seen worse.

There aren't as many loose screws as when I first went last summer, and the volume's decent, but I get a lot of pad ng's and an occasional pad miss.  It's not good for scorer-types, but it's fine for people who just want to have a good time and have at least a chance of meeting people.
