So is anyone on these forums of a drinking age?  Like are you allowed into Ground Kontrol after dark?  Because drinking and DDR are two things that go very well together and I would like to do them socially.

I don't drink but I'll have a Pepsi or iced tea and I can be out after dark...as long as I clear it with the wifey     I've never seen someone play DDR inebriated.  It sounds like fun.  Besides, if you're trashed you won't notice my lack of uber l33t dance moves.

i am twice the age of a few people on this forum.

phylicia's info is accurate - she is not 21 yet.

i go to ground kontrol more for the pinball than the DDR.  i grew up with a lot of the pins that are in the upstairs.  great memories, great fun.  DDR i can play anywhere, but where else am i going to find a Black Knight 2000 or a Star Trek TNG or a Haunted House?  If only they'd fix up their Theater of Magic.

Yes, I am of drinking age, but I don't drink.  :?

I don't really understand why anyone would want to drink and DDR anyway... ESPECIALLY at Ground Kontrol. As I've said before, that railway on the 1P side is a catastrophe waiting to happen.

I don't remember what was wrong with Theater of Magic last time I was there, but it's more playable than Black Knight 2000, which has been missing a pretty crucial section of where the ball gets placed in the upper playfield.

I agree though, when I go to Ground Kontrol I go there to play all the great classic games you can't play anywhere else. Going there solely for DDR is silly.

the one hole in the lower playfield of BK2000 seemed to bring it properly to the uppler playfield the last time i played it.

with that one, it's all about the soundtrack.  one of the first pins to ever have music and sounds outside of bleeps and bloops.  i remember going to the local seven eleven when i was young to play that one.

Theater of Magic was completely broken when i was there, as in out of order.  it's one of my favorite pins, but i had other stuff to occupy me... some of the pins there came from the era when pinballs were being pushed to the limits of complexity of what your goals were, how to maximize points.  I remember loving Demolition Man when it came out, but now i play it and it's a little too much with not enough focus.  Doctor Who is fantastically complex without being too overbearing, and of course Star Trek TNG and Haunted House is fantastic.

i kind of wish they had Twilight Zone, though.  That pin is absolutely fantastic.  I think my brother said something about how the creators of that one said, "it's one of the most ambitious pins we ever did - wonderfully complicated on so many levels at the peak of when pinball players appreciated it.  I'm glad we did it, because it would never survive the pinball genre today."  I forget if Pat Lawlor was the one that did that one, but i wouldn't be surprised.  pinball genius.  i'm glad some of those old bally/williams guy moved over to Stern and are still making good quality pins.

I have to admit though, Dr. Who needs to fucking leave. It is THE most annoying pinball game ever made.

Twilight Zone is the best pinball game I've ever played. There's one about 20 miles from my house in a random pizza place.

oh don't get rid of doctor who.  that pin is pretty fantastic.  if they plan on getting rid of it, i might buy it.

although i don't have room for two pins in my place.

No, it needs to go be the best pin in a landfill somewhere, because I HATE LISTENING TO IT.

At the very least they should put it downstairs and bring a different pin to that room so I don't have to listen to it over DDR. It's like this for me: "I... I had to let you AHHH AHHH WHAT IS THIS MADNESS I HAVE THE WORST VOICE EVER AHH AHHH"

I go there mostly for the Joust.  Wunderland's a much better deal on the DDR, since the sensors actually work now.

Oh, btw, Milwaukie's pads are pretty phenomenal now.  I guess they switched around the sensors a little and it helped a ton and a half.

Yes.

See in the context of the show they're tolerable (or at least it appears that way to me), and in fact they sound kind of cool, but other than that it's just a constant annoyance the whole way through.

When I started, I was always one of the youngest, now I think I am the oldest    I know a lot of the players up in Washington area are of drinking age and would probably take you up on this, I would consider it I guess, though whenever I play ddr I get in 'serious' mode.  When you mix that with alcohol, I look like I'm playing really hard but end up failing ever song.    I think this would be more fun to do at someones house who owned a machine  Shocked   But if you ever set anything up, let me know and I'll probably come.

I think BBH is older than you, MTJ.  Although neither of you are really "old", just old-er.

Beyond answering the initial question, there's nowhere for this thread to go.

This guy is looking for adults to hang out with.  You don't find it rude to post a bunch of irrelevant crap in it?  Do you have to be in every thread?  If someone posted a thread looking for like minded bald transsexual hippies would you post in there to?  If you posted some such thread would you appreciate it if a bunch of people came in and hijacked your thread?

For all the talk I hear about expanding this board here is a classic case of someone trying to bring people in or start something new but instead it's talk of pinball and who thinks who is how old and away it goes.  It just seems like a waste if you take a moment and look at it.

Wow. Just wow.

"talk of pinball" came from the OP mentioning playing DDR at Ground Kontrol. Ground Kontrol is a place with a lot of pinball games. It's not much of a stretch.

Everyone mentioning their age is in response to the guy asking who on this board is over 21, and that's pretty much been answered by this point.

Doesn't really seem like an off-topic hijacking to me, I've seen far worse.

And I have no idea what this has to do with anything!

This sounds like a call for a resurgence of old-school BBH hijackery....
