[Arcade] John's Incredible Pizza Company - Beaverton, OR
John's Incredible Pizza Company
http://www.johnspizza.com/
9180 SW Hall Boulevard
Beaverton, OR 97223
503-520-0000
Dance Dance Revolution X2
- 4 credits ($1.00) / 3 songs
Important note - John's Incredible Pizza Company is a pizza/buffet place where you have to pay to get in. Prices are $9.50 for adults (plus additional $1.79 for drinks... wtf), or $6.99 from 11am - 3pm.
I can not recommend going there solely to play DDR at this time, as the volume is extremely low on the machine AND is in an unfortunate location right next to some very loud bumper cars. I literally couldn't hear anything in the songs I was playing. Pads are fine, but being an X2 machine with an HD screen it has the same input lag that X1 has, so good luck adjusting. No unlocks yet, and no double premium (although there's something about a "trial play" in single where the other side can play one song for free? didn't try it)
There are some bulk credit deals if you buy $15, $20, or $25 on a card, but I obviously don't suggest buying a lot of credits right now.
Other games in the arcade - Deadstorm Pirates, Let's Go Island, Ghost Squad Evolution, Terminator Salvation, H2Overdrive, Tank Tank Tank, two Fast & the Furious games, the usual loads and loads of redemption crap

Location Update: I just visited that place today. The machine is now at unlock level MAX and only 75 cents (3 credits) for 3 songs, but still no HD lag fix and the volume is still too low. I wish there is a better X2 in Oregon.
And yes, the trial play is where a second player can play the first stage for free (but cannot set options).

Re: [Arcade] John's Incredible Pizza Company - Beaverton, OR
I went to go to this place same day as BBH, found out that I had to buy the buffet just to get in, turned around, and went to Big Al's.
I want to play DDR X2, but it being an X1 upgrade cab, being quiet, and being right next to bumper cars makes it not worth it in my book.

Re: [Arcade] John's Incredible Pizza Company - Beaverton, OR
I suppose I may go and play a little if I'm also hungry, just to actually get to try an X2 machine. I wont be going here for serious play though; after a few hours of play a shower is the first thing on my mind not food and eating buffet amounts of pizza
before
playing doesn't seem like a good idea either.
EDIT: also got this email reply from their comments/questions email:

Hi Karl,
I appreciate your comments and suggestions. I do understand that many guests would like to enter our facility to just play games and not eat however, our requirement to purchase a buffet in order to enter will not be changing. The reason is because once inside we do not have a system of tracking those who have paid to eat or not. Our facility is completely opened and everyone inside the building is free to go wherever they like. Since there is no way to monitor who has paid to eat or who is just playing games we are unable to control who is eating. At this point in time this is the best and most efficient way to run our business. Thank you for taking the time to point out your concerns and I sincerely hope you will still visit John's. If you have any further questions you can contact the Beaverton location at 503-520-0000. Have an INCREDIBLE day!
I suppose this policy makes sense for them since there's no sort of divider between the buffet/arcade. :\

Yeah it's not so bad if you just go when you're hungry I guess. It's just like the Mr. Gatti's places I used to go to when I lived in Texas, but that only cost like $6. Hell the pizza tastes the same as Gatti's..........
It's a fairly big place, it took over the location that the Beaverton Circuit City used to be at.

Go play DDR then get lunch/dinner afterwards. Sounds ok to me for a few times a month.

What the hell?
So you're telling me there's an X-2 cab less than 10 miles from my house, but it's not really playable
or
economically feasible to play either?
>_<
