Ethan doesn't play bemani much anymore, from what I've gathered. :[

I'm more concerned about his well-being than his gaming habits; I'm hopefully just being paranoid though. (I get it from my mother)

Ethan's perfectly alive, I saw him on AIM a couple days ago. Cheesy

I played there on Monday. Heh. The left side was poop, though.

Okay, glad to hear it.

Phylicia: glad to hear it's back up now.  I was there Sunday; missed ya by a day. Sad

You would have been able to catch me kicking ass on Joust if you had been there a day earlier. Wink

Cross-post from DDRFreaks, so you all know what's up!

Hey folks,

Well, I hate to disappoint, but DDR continued to be problematic... to the point that we had to ship the motherboard back to the distributor in the hopes that they can repair it.

It went out today and as of right now I don't have an ETA on when to expect it. I'm sure we'll have to wait till they get a chance to look it over and let us know.

Again, all of us at GK sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Hopefully the beat will, you know, go on ASAP.

I'll post more when I've got solid info. Thanks for your patience!

What do you think the chances are of it getting back in less than 3 weeks?

Alright, here's where we're at.

First: DDR is back up. We received the board back from the distributor and were able to boot it up again. I believe it's still exhibiting the same problems, but we were lucky and it booted. For now, we're not turning it off unless absolutely necessary!

We did order a replacement board, and it should be arriving shortly (hopefully). At that point, I'm sure we'll have to do more troubleshooting.

What I'd like to do, once we've got DDR back to normal, is organize some kind of tournament or all-day event. So, if you local folks could suggest something you'd like to see happen at Ground Kontrol, that would be cool. We really appreciate your patience!

Again, for now: you can come down and play!

Cha-ching!

Excellent. If a tournament did happen, I might go there. From what I've heard, GK seems to be a pretty chill retro arcade place.

We'll be getting together there on the 31st (9 days).  I doubt you'll have it running 100% by then, but we may do a mini-tourney (no prizes or anything, just for fun) if there are enough of us there regardless, as long as the machine's actually turned on.  I'd definitely be down for a real tourney some time too.

Right on.

For now, the deal is, we're leaving the game on 24/7. I don't know what the situation will be on 3/31 yet, but feel free to call (503-796-9364) before you decide where to meet up. I'm here most every day from noon to 6PM.

I'll keep you guys posted via this board of any changes, though!

OK, DDR's new board is installed!

So, what would you guys like to see tournament-wise?

Are you just going to do something kinda informal during your 3/31 meetup?

Start talking and I'll do what I can to accommodate!

I don't think there's enough time to organise something formal by this weekend, but I'd definitely be up for a real tourney in April. =D  Let's see how many people show up on Saturday first.

So I have found my way here! Smiley

For those of you who haven't become acquainted with me yet from the DDR Freak community, my name is Noah Eaton, and I am a fairly new Dance Dance Revolutionary who tried the game for the first time September last, and started playing in earnest November last, who has went hook, line and sinker into the game. Smiley

Currently I appear at Ground Kontrol usually on the weekends (occasionally Tilt! though I don't fancy paying a dollar per game) and play the home version of Dance Dance Revolution SuperNova frequently in my spare time on a soft pad (I have yet to really play on an arcade version)

To share a little more about me, I'm a student at Portland State University, with versatile interests especially in the arts and humanities, I regularly volunteer at KBOO Community Radio (90.7 FM) in the Evening News & Public Affairs Department (I was a paid Interim Evening News Director for a month there last December), other interests of mine include vegetarian cooking, long walks on the beach or in the wilderness, on-line poker, Sudoku puzzles, and astrology (my natal chart is available below for anyone interested! Smiley )

Thus, I have the determination, energy and intuition Scorpios are known for, but I'm also refined and heavily influenced by a Moon in Cancer, which softens my personality and makes me more imaginative, emotional and home-oriented, as well as Jupiter in Saggitarius, which explains me being and appearing more jovial and optimistic than other Scorpios.

My Chinese sign is the Pig (or Boar) and this is the Year of the Pig so I'm excited about that too! Smiley

Smiley It's great to be here, yay!

Sincerely,
Noah Eaton

So, about that vegetarian cooking. . .
=D

That gives me the idea of having a potluck involved in the next get-together.  It would be pretty cool to play DDR for a couple hours, then all head to Backspace (I think that's what they're called) and have a big ol' potluck.  They have Voodoo Doughnuts too, which fits in with another little obsession of mine, and WiFi, so it would basically be amazing with a side of amazing, while drinking some amazing at amazingland.

I'm concerned about us bringing (a lot of) outside food into backspace, especially if we don't buy anything from backspace when we're there, though i doubt someone wouldn't make a purchase. But I don't know, maybe I'm paranoid.

You know, it's spring, and if this was done on a nice day, you could walk up to park blocks or another park and do one. C:

Also, don't take anything from Starbucks into backspace, or you will mostly likely be kicked out.
