TL;DR version in greentext:

>Ifc.Nine did stuff
>Ifc and JSB have little fuss
>Iori calls Ifc a "full on retard"
>APHR calls Iori "ignorant jerk" for offensive use of words
>Tension intensifies
>The two develop a negative relationship
>Later, conversation about pads at SPERGIN4
>Suddenly, ACME pads fucked
>APHR brings it up on forums
>Suddenly, people complain/feud with APHR
>Totally fine
>Iori see opportunity to turn people against APHR personally
>Shitstorm

Can I make this any clearer?

If we're going to have a debate about flushed pads vs. stock pads, it should be legitimate and civil. It should not be people ganging up against each other in anyway.

PREVIOUS TL;DR ESSAY-LIKE THING BELOW:

Okay. I was about to rewrite the whole 5-paragraph argument I have about the unbiased position in these debates about flushed pads, using baby power, but screw it. Stupid browser.

It looks like someone should point some stuff out for you all to notice. Maybe you already know most of these details, maybe you don't, I don't really care for that right now, I am figuring this out for myself as well.

Awhile ago, IFC.Nine arrived to ACME for the first time and had a misunderstanding with sfxazure and JSB. Iori241 proceeded to use derogatory terms against IFC.Nine, and as a result, APHR steps in to call him out for the offensive language.

This is where I presume the tension between Iori and APHR began.

Recently, at SPERGIN4, I overhear conversations with KAZE about pads and their modding, and I notice that pHappy Redneck seemed awfully bothered by it. I'm not sure if it's him for sure, but from what I heard from APHR and Rose, possibly he and others came in the ACME and messed with it.

That is where this whole issue on the pads began to intensify.

APHR reports the issue in a civil manner, and you all, despite how artful and polite your language seems, the content within your message is practically an attack to APHR. He works damn hard on the pads and spends his time and money. I have actually tried helping and so has Bauregard and we both know his feels.

From what I've seen, this was the opportune moment for Iori to start a war against APHR, and so began this massive flaming on the ACME Bowl thread.

I notice that more and more users start ganging up on him along with APHR, but I see this as the bystander effect. None of the other users besides Iori really seem like the kind of rude people in reality, but you are all attacking him like he's just some evil threat.

This is upsetting for me, because damn it, APHR and Rose are probably the nicest couple who play ITG, and they're like a damn family to me. I suppose I should admit I say this in an attempt to get you to pity me, but you probably don't care. Suko, you're a damn nice guy and I was glad to meet a new player, and I wouldn't expect you to be attacking APHR. You two would get along perfectly in reality. KevinDDR, I don't know who you are yet, but I'm certain you're a nice guy too and I'd love to meet the other Kevins of the community. Team Kevin unite.
The internet is a shitty place to communicate, there are always misunderstandings in tone and intention. It's better to confront and address these problems in person.

Who the hell started this war anyhow?

From what it seems, Iori, you are finding any excuse to troll and even JSB notices it. I suppose it's only fair that I say that, and I don't mean that to attack you, but that is what I've observed.

I'm a stupid kid. Insult me if you think I'm the stupidest asshole to have been born. It's understandable, because I'm simply naive and I don't know much yet. But APHR and Rose are very compliant and they do their best to adjust this public cabinet to work for everybody. I used to play barely pass 6s on DDR and as soon as I tried ITG, I struggled. But I adapted to the flushed feeling of the pads. I may be light, and it's difficult as well, but I've tried doubles and it works.
There goes my side of the flushed pad argument.

I may have forgotten the purpose of why I'm writing all of this bullshit anyhow, but I just plead that we stop this whole grudge.

It's very upsetting.
For fuck's sakes, ITG is the only entertainment I have left. I just want this to be the one place where I can see people get along. But I can't have that, because I'm a selfish fuck and the real world is not that pretty.

You're adults and you should act like it. I don't want to be that one kid who tells the adults off because it's usually ridiculous and I may trigger you to instinctually keep me from one-upping you.

Thought I may share some details that I know and express it somehow.

Just..

stop.

It's. A. Dance. Game.

Wait a second. This is not actually over the pads being flushed nor the baby powder. These are old problems that are still being debated.

This whole shit is over Iori and APHR and the use of the term "retard." This is where this fucking beef started?

APHR and Iori241

Is this how the relationship between you sunk?

we have plenty of spergs and autists here but you're the first full on retard congrats buddy
Looks like we got ourselves an ignorant jerk on our forums...

Over this? Is this why one of you is targeting the other or vice versa?
Everyone else can be civil about the pads and the powder, but Iori, you are seizing the advantage of being on the majority's side against APHR.

This. It needs to end.

Iori may dislike APHR personally but that doesn't change the fact that he made a lot of valid points and identified real problems with APHR's behavior. People other than Iori have concerns about ACME's machine, so hopefully APHR will return to the forums and listen to them.

I see that Iori does bring up good points - but with malevolent intent. I think what I was trying to get at is that Iori finds any excuse to make conflict with APHR. What he says is fair, but the way he says it was to attack Chris over a feud over the use of the word "retard," and he has to have you all gang up on him? Just, what is that?

I will also try to convince APHR to come back seeing as he's really the only one with explicit permission to modify the pads. It's tough for him to spend money and time to get the pads just right. I know we've al had suggestions, but we sort of just shot it at him expecting him to "fix it." It's a burden.

Hey Kevin,

Thanks for adding additional details for reference for people to see what's going on.
It's a big unfortunate situation that everything worked out as it has.

My hope is everyone can cool down and get along again.

My concern is: why did this heated debate on stock/flushed pads suddenly come back again after this personal grudge between the two users?

At least in my case? The pads being modded in a way that completely fucks up my play style and prevents me from playing at a level comparable to other ITG cabinets, or from playing Double charts at all. I let it slide for a long time because "the community" wanted it and we were given constant reassurance that the modded pads would still be fine to use, even though they clearly were not.

The modding sacrifices every other play style for one that the game wasn't even designed for. I resent the cabinet being ruined for me because the casuals didn't speak out hard enough, and I feel lied to that the pads have been in an unplayable condition for me even after those reassurances.

I don't know, it's just weird seeing relatively new people doing all these things to the machine when it's been in pretty good condition. I've been playing at Acme since 2006 and haven't had any real issues with the machine. I don't know if it was due to the modding or if it's old, but in my recent sets I experienced some pad misses and the stage was riddled with baby powder and slippery. I never said anything cause I thought that was the "norm" and most of PNWBemani agreed to it.

Maybe my opinion doesn't hold as much weight as APHR and Rose (as I don't play as much as them, or much at all really), but it's still an issue modding the machine so people can 1337 stream on it. They're probably really nice people (I've seen them a few times) but I think they should get their own machine to suit their play style as it won't affect anyone but them.

tl;dr APHR should've never left the forum. I'm blinded by nostalgia to keep the pads similar to the way they've been. I think Iori was trolling at first but brought up some valid points. Kumbaya my lord Kumbaya

Yeah, I still never denied the fact that Iori brought up very good points.

It's agreeable that APHR and Rose should get their own private cab so they can mod it as much as they'd like.

But where does one get another cab, let alone an ITG dedi?

It would be nice, and I do feel that the public cab should be suitable for randoms again.

But for now, players like APHR and I don't really have any other place to do insane leg-seizure streams.

This is why I'm glad I have my own machine. I don't have to deal with this crazy sh*t. =D

a lot of stuff
since this thread is getting linked elsewhere and it was changed from its original state to have more misinformation in the op, this will be a placeholder post where i will explain things in depth and clear up a lot of dumb stuff in the op. i was actually initially okay with it since it was not clear enough to be taken seriously but i believe i have to respond to this now. i'll do this tomorrow. the fact that a forum admin christens this version of things as reality even though there is a boatload of personal bias and unfounded claims/fallacious arguments is an issue.

Please try to clear up some stuff as well.

This is probably not an reasonable/replicable option, but maybe buying a Metal Precision pad and modding it into a stage with a ITG PC setup or something similar.

Bill says the revenue stream was higher with modded pads so that makes it harder to come to a decision. Seems more people are for the modded/flushed pads but a fair amount are against it.

I just hope that everyone can agree to something and accomplish what they want.

One thing I'm sure of though is that it's good to see Acme becoming more active and lively.

Not as many young souls, though, unfortunately. My peers are all about swag and smoking pot and Young Money and worse stuff. It's great 'cause I get to be the individual of my group Cheesy
But seriously, it is good to see people still enjoying the arcade.

Also, would you happen to know what kind of sensors that brand of dancepad you recommended uses?

Ha, Acme has always had those "cool" dudes hanging around the racing games. I actually almost got mugged once at night but I ran 2 safety hehe.

Unfortunately I don't, but you should check out the site and email the guy or send a Facebook message. They're prettyyyy expensive but people are saying good things about them. I don't know if they play 20 footers though.

Thanks Patrick, I'll be researching some of this. Lol I'll probably never make it to 17s, I just want to stream at 174 or play Somebody Loves You.

Well, it happened inside (near the North entrance exit) and the guy was someone I "knew" (he stole my friend's stuff before and is pretty much an asshole). Other than that, I haven't had any incidents and one time I lost my USB stick and someone actually turned it in! Still, keep your eye on your stuff Wink
