For my English 102 class, I am to conduct a primary research paper. I decided to investigate the topic of what people eat prior to playing dance games. If you guys would help me out I'd greatly appreciate it and you'd have my eternal gratitude. Here we go:

What do you eat before engaging in rigorous arrow-smash activity? Why?

I'm not a high stamina player, but to contribute to you research I do not specifically eat any food before playing dance games. I will eat when I'm hungry, which could be right before or after dance games and it could be anything from a burger to teriyaki to any standard food.

I have good memories of Acme back when it first opened showing up on a Friday night, playing games, then sharing a huge plate of Acme's nachos before going right back to a few more games. Nachos or burgers probably comprise the largest portion of pre-dance food I've eaten. I think this is mostly due to convenience of wanting to grab food quick and to not be hungry before playing.

I eat all sorts of junk food, strangely.

My daily diet AND ITG diet consist primarily of:
  • Fried foods (french fries, chicken strips, burgers, etc.)
  • Chips
  • Subway sandwiches
  • Lots of soda
  • SOMETIMES a salad

I'm one of the outliers, so I won't expect to be included in your research, but I guess it's worth mentioning.

I eat just about anything before playing ITG. I don't restrict myself to athletic-enhancing food, but I don't really notice the consequences during arrow-smashing play.
Maybe if I ate a bit healthier before I play, I'd feel "lighter" and performed slightly better, but otherwise, my average performance isn't affected by what I eat.

I, however, just have a strange metabolism is general. I eat an insanely large amount of junky kinds of foods and I am relatively healthy for my size. I am a tiny kid, but I don't even understand myself how I can eat such outrageous things prior to a physically straining activity.

I hope some of my story gives you some info for your research.

1 to 2 hours before I dance.

Something involving grilled chicken with some sort of vegetables in various forms.

Whether that's literally grilled chicken and vegetables or an oven roasted chicken subway with lots of veggies or teriyaki chicken light sauce with the salad. I am in no way, shape, or form a health nut but I find a good source of protein without it being entirely protein at least an hour before I play works best.

I eat one of those protein/energy bars from 7-11 while I drive to the arcade, and sometimes drink a sports drink that has caffeine to get a boost.

If I have food in my stomach when I play, I get abdominal cramps. It could be because I play a lot of no-bar, which involves MUCH more movement than when playing with a bar. So, I forgoe eating anything prior to playing. If I'm really hungry, I'll eat a power bar or vitamin water. That's all I can take.

A banana before hand is normally perfect.
Pasta an hour before also helps out as well.

About an hour beforehand, I'd hydrate with some water or gatorade,
then have a half sandwich loaded with turkey, for carbs and protein.
