February 21, 2007, 11:36:31 PM - ORIGINAL POST -

I will be offering transportation to my house from Acme after all.  If you want me to take you to my house from there, be there by 5:00pm.

DISCLAIMER: No alcohol or illicit drugs are allowed.

For those of us who are new, the Bring Your Own Bemani events are an attempt to bring our community closer together, and, as the name implies, possibly even expose people to other music games.  Started last year by DMN, this will mark the 5th in the BYOB series.

Starting time: 6:00pm

Address:
3717 260th Ave SE
Issaquah, WA 98029 (more nowhere than ever before.)

Directions (From I-90 East):
1. Take Exit 17.
2. Turn left at the light onto Front St N.
3. Turn right onto SE Issaquah Fall-City RD. This is immediately after the 76 gas station you'll see on the right.
4. Go up the hill and straight for a couple miles, then turn left onto Klahanie DR SE.
5. Turn right onto SE 39th Way.
6. Turn left onto 260th Ave SE. My house is to the left of the cul-de-sac at the bottom of the hill.

Provided:
- PS2, JPS2
- GCN
- XBOX IS HUGE (...)
- N64
- SNES w/ roughly 20 games
- Two TVs: The 21" one in my lair of doom, and the bigger 28" one in the bonus room.
- One modded IIDX controller, and every CS IIDX from 3rd-HS (no BMUS though).
- Ping pong table
- Apples to Apples
- Tada custom Fluxx deck

Bring caffeine.
Bring IIDX tables if you do not like playing from your lap or the floor.

RSVP here.

IMPORTANT QUESTION, PLEASE READ:

Recently, I found a hackeysack yesterday in my toybox. That reminded me, for the past month or so at my school, me and my buddies have been forming hackeysack circles at lunch, and I had an idea.

Is anyone up for a little hackeysack during BYOB? I'm not good at all, so anyone can play.

I would not really be up for hacky sack.

Ultimate, though, yes.  Especially since it won't be the day following me getting my wisdom teeth removed this time.

Would anyone be up for an unofficial TA tournament, so we can all practice for SC?

I've got an orchestral performance with St. Stephen's Episcopal Church twice on 3/17.

Due to the in-person poll at SBK, I'm moving it back to 3/24, and locking in with that.  If you can't make it, there will probably be more BYOBs in the future.

The 24th is better. I'm not confirming I'll be able to go or not yet, but so far so good.

I might be able to go, but my Mom is all worried something bad's going to happen, like you'll all turn out to be potheads or drunks or that you have some fetish for kids who play rhythm games. So she wants some more info, I guess. I told her there might well be someone else my age there (Kevin), and she wants to know how his parents feel about him doing this. Also she wants to know whether there'll be alcohol and things like that.

Post above mine deleted.  It would be pretty hard for anyone who hasn't been to this event, especially their parents, to know whether the post or not was serious or sarcastic, so I nixed it just to be on the safe side.

This event is going to be alcohol and drug free.

If you didn't already know (I eventually tell everyone this over AIM), my dad is always fine with me hanging out with bemani peeps. However, my mom is really afraid of it and hasn't let me go to any of the BYOBs. I was really close last time, but it didn't work out.

Risking a few people taking that post the wrong way isn't worth a little sarcastic humor.  Example:

[16:28:36] kevinddr2000:  just because yknow if my mom saw that
[16:28:37] kevinddr2000:  ...
[16:28:39] kevinddr2000:  she'd be like
[16:28:49] kevinddr2000:  WELL I DON'T FUCKING CARE IF HE'S KIDDING

Do you ban humor and sarcasm at your parties, too?
Also, is there cussing allowed? Wouldn't want the gentle ears of a 13 year old to hear any bad words, you know.

You underestimate how paranoid and protective some parents can be about this kind of thing. There is no way in hell mine would've let me go to any of Deanna's gatherings back in the day if they read something like that, even knowing it was a joke. :\

...but he was all right with a joke, so whatever. No harm. Just be a little more careful. Tongue

edit> Oh, and I'm not quite sure if I'll be able to make it. May have family plans for spring break, I dunno.
