"Reputation"

Is proving to be utterly pointless and meaningless.... Just throwing that out there.

Why was this added again? lol...

Re: "Reputation"

Nice article, but I added in a small section at the end about PIU and why it's great for teaching how to stomp. I hope you don't mind.

I'm not kidding though. Go play pump. Also this is getting off topic. But thanks for posting gerrack!

Re: "Reputation"

Guys I almost sinned and trolled the forums more... But instead I did the honorable thing and wrote an article on how to bracket stomp correctly.

Here you go, hopefully it helps someone. It certainly worked for my boredom problem Wink

Re: "Reputation"

lol, I got a negative rep now too, Alan.

I'm thinking of going down the Renegade path with this character. Maybe I'll get a better ending and more interesting dialog options.

I now think we should just keep the system as is but rename it "Thumbs ups" and "Face Palms" instead of "reputation"

I would be totally in support of that... hahahahaha.

Edit:  The articles section is at the top, in between "Arcade Map" and "Pics."  Cheesy

I would so look cuter than her if I could find a pair of UGGs that would fit me.

Dance Game Dictionary Article I made on this site. There's a ton of ITG terms, mostly mods, that I haven't put onto the list yet. You seem like the ideal person to put that information in for us. =D
Wow haha. Where's this at?

I could write a book on the theory of dance games.... How to bracket stomp, using toes vs. heels, fast arrow speed vs. slow, bar vs. no bar. How to build stamina/speed/timing... Sounds like boredom quelled to me!

And damn I thought I'd have gotten a good -5rep for trolling! Where's the love? Sad

I now think we should just keep the system as is but rename it "Thumbs ups" and "Face Palms" instead of "reputation"

I've been there and I hear ya. If you're really bored, you can help fill out terms in the Dance Game Dictionary Article I made on this site. There's a ton of ITG terms, mostly mods, that I haven't put onto the list yet. You seem like the ideal person to put that information in for us. =D

Re: "Reputation"

I GOT THE FIRST -REP BITCHES!!!

     Geez, someone's a grouch... Wink

No my criticism was sparked from a user or two who have like 15 posts about nothing at all relevant to the community with +3 or +4 rep. Which proved to me beyond a doubt it has nothing at all to do with being 'useful to the community' and it's just for shits.

I bought a fan and have been bringing it to Acme every time now to keep players cool. Do I get rep for that? I also got a group of people to talk to Acme myself since no one has managed to ball up and talk to them about the heat lamp problem, and got them to unscrew that lightbulb. Also have called in every bad sensor in the last 3 years at Acme. Rep anyone? Yet you can get +50 rep for saying LOLS I MADE A CHART TO _______ (insert stupid anime song here).

"Reputation" here doesn't have anything at all to do with being useful to people, and doesn't have anything to do with being good at rhythm games, and doesn't have anything to do with being well known by people who play rhythm games. So it's absolutely pointless except to jerk each other off...

Why does it matter if if this system is here or not? Big whoop if it's not being used much. It's not like it's taking up a lot of screen space or anything.
Very true I just wanted to clarify it's actual lack of relevance to anything to anyone who thought otherwise. Plus I'm bored at work, so I gotta troll the forums or I go crazy from boredom  Cheesy

And rep probably isnt going to be given based on being helpful to the community, but more given based on who is liked the most by forum-goers or says the funniest things, etc. Like voting for class president in high school

Direct quote from the thread too Wink Oh wait that was me who said it....

But pretty much what its proven to be hehe....

I agree that it would make more sense to like/dislike individual posts and just leave it at that. Maybe adjust it to where in order to get a + or - rep you have to have something like 3 or 5 likes/dislikes on a given post you made, rather than giving it directly, and not limit it by day but rather say you can only like/dislike a given post once.

Re: "Reputation"

I actually kind of agree that reputation isn't working the way it's intended, but I'm all for modifying it and trying more options rather than scrapping it altogether.

Keby mentioned that it's sort of like "liking" something on Facebook.  I wonder how hard it would be to actually make it so that rather than up- or down-voting a person, you up- or down-vote their post.  I feel like a lot more people would be comfortable saying "I dislike this post" than "negative rep for this person."

Maybe we could even have a system where if somebody's posts get down-voted a certain number of times, they get negative rep - so it'd essentially be the same thing, except people aren't directly down-voting the person, which psychologically should make it easier for people to click the "dislike" button.

Alternately, we can all just agree to troll each other to shit on the internet and be nice in person.  Grin

"This feature is meant to highlight those on the site who are making a difference.
Imagine it like a "Like/Dislike" button. If you would have liked it on Facebook, it's probably worth giving the person a +Rep."
