Errrr maybe I'm missing something here, but why would Raiden Fighters be a draw to go to Seattle when one could play it at Godfather's Pizza or Laserport... not to mention there's a really good home port now...

It's not the game, it's the chance to set an unbeatable high score on the game.

Also I see your Mortal Kombat CD and raise you Killer Kuts.  The later had better production values anyhow.

Between this, Razing Storm, and that Night Striker song on Taiko no Tatsujin 9, do I sense a building need for a Seattle day trip?

D'oh, I was at Gameworks and even played their Raiden Fighters but don't remember the score.  200-something.. thousand, million? dunno
I don't recall it being something insane, just a good score by someone who knows how the medal system works.
Most of my game was wasted trying to remember how to power up the medals in Fighters 1, let alone how to do it in a 2P game.

Beat Raiden Fighters with in 1 credit at gameworks yesterday. Still couldn't beat the high score though. It's ridiculous

What's the high score on it at Gameworks? I'm assuming it's a US board so it has a 2nd loop... good shit getting through the 1st loop at least though. But yeah you gotta know all the scoring stuff and get into 100k medal mode as soon as possible since just surviving to the end doesn't give a big enough bonus.

I have scores in the top 7 last I checked on Raiden Fighters 1 and Raiden Fighters Jet on the Xbox360 release of Raiden Fighters Aces, lol  :\

1CC'ed Blazing Star for the first time at Ground Kontrol today, which was pretty funny because I was trying to show zeppy and Schlagwerk (and later Tofu) how the game worked and all that, wasn't expecting to get the all clear. Only 31.7 million though, I can definitely do better...

Quite a bit farther into stage 4 in Espgaluda Arrange (past the mini-boss).  Turns out you do get a point-based extend at 80 million.

Score was 88.1m.

Indeed, the scores on Giga Wing 2 and Giga Wing Generations get much more ridiculous. I still think part 1 is the most fun though.
