The thing with Katamari is that there's only so much at the biggest sizes.  The biggest object in the first game IIRC is mount fuji, which is 600m.  It only adds what, 20 or 30 meters at that point? I doubt picking up everything will push you into the km range, if even 900m.

I tried twice today, 520 and 730.
The first time, I was just being really slow when I started rolling up cities, and the second time, I got stuck for a full 30 seconds losing crap way too fast because an elephant ran me up against a wall, otherwise I probably would have gotten a much better score.
I might have played another game in the 680's, but I'm not sure if that's just me remembering from my second game or not. . .

Point is, I got up to 720 on a really bad game, and with how long it took me to get from 400 to 720 (1 minute), I'm doubting that it could be THAT much of a struggle to get at least into the mid 900's.

It's possible to get 1km?  It always caps somewhere in the 800s for me.

I've never beaten 843.94, which was my first try oddly enough.  I can see 900 being possible since there's still a little stuff left at that point, but 1k is doubtful unless someone has screens indicating otherwise... you just don't grow enough per object at that size.

Well, with your radius growing generally at an O(x^(1/3)) rate with the volume of the objects you pick up, it's a really uphill battle to get to 1000.  I've collected everything in the last eternal stage and have not gotten close.  There is a little more in Make the Moon, but I really doubt it's enough for 1000.  The best scores I have heard are ~880m.

Also, just over 3600m on Large as Possible 5 on We <3 Katamari a while back.  I doubt I can ever beat that, since there's not really anything but water left at that point (I broke the 3600 mark with almost a full minute left and only picked up one or two more objects before time ran out).

Well, I got it 750 without much effort with a ton more stuff to get, so I figure it's possible to go much larger.
I could be wrong, but I tend to find that's I grow at a constant 200m/minute after I get to 320m.
I guess I'll have to play it more to find out.

One thing I want to do is try getting to one of the XXXL Mushrooms while still at < 3m.
They're, like, 150m tall, so I think it would be pretty insane to actually run into one at that size. xD
