Right now, I'm the only global admin/moderator on the site. The site started out as Cynic and I being co-admins, but he left the scene a long while ago.

Anyway, I don't have time anymore to do all of the moderating myself. I want to open 2 mod positions for all of the forums. The can help move/edit/lock threads and or posts as needed. This is not a very demanding position, as the forums here are fairly self-sufficient.

Here's how it'll work:
1) Post in this thread your interest by Midnight on the 11th. Feel free to list any reasons why you'd make a great mod for the community.
2) The community will vote the week following from the pool of interested people. You will be allowed to vote for as many people as you'd like. If you think 3 of the 5 people would make a good mod, you should vote for all 3. Votes will be by PM to me.

CONDITIONS:
- At least 12 people must vote. Entrants can vote, but cannot vote for themselves.
- At least 4 people must apply to become a mod.
- Only accounts that were created as of 2/7/2011 can vote, and only if they have 5 posts before that time.
- Winners determined by top # of votes.
- Winners MUST get at least 60% support to win, meaning at least 60% of the voters must have voted for the winner. If nobody gets 60%, I'll lower it to 51%.

If the conditions above do not get met, I will continue to moderate the forums by myself until I appoint someone to help me.

Good to hear  Though your personal stance on some things may differ than mine on certain subjects, the case you made for being a mod and importance of maintaining neutrality even among disagreements earned my and many others' votes. (the fact i seen you the most out of all the candidates help also). Congrats.

I will get pissed off if a mod abuses their powers.

People running for these mod positions should really be aware that people are gonna get pissed off if you abuse your privileges or neglect your observations. That means not banning people at the first sign that they disagree with you. And I call out admins (or any authority) for being (in my opinion) retarded, or abusing their power, or whatever. BlueSS has been very fair with me on these forums, even though I've taken stabs at him before, and hence is a very good admin. I expect the same fair treatment from any mod.

Reasons I would be a good mod:
- I've played these damn games for about 10 years now. Ridiculous! I've been with the community since the very first Illusionz days (I know, I know, Gameworks had DDR first)
- I go to arcades multiple times a week. I'll continue to go to arcades multiple times a week! I also note the condition of EVERY machine in an arcade when I go, so I can keep things updated.
- I've run tournaments in the past! This means that I care about the community!
- I have nothing better to do with my life than check the forums every hour or so.
- I have OCD and like organizing things.

Student, previous mod, blah blah blah. Fair and understanding, etc etc.
Obvious problems involve me being in NZ and stuff. Other than that though, cool as. Might be useful for any nighttime spam though (previous site occasionally got hit at night in the US, I was always on lol)

Edit: I also suggest we have the option to boot any assistant admin if they start having a power trip. Simple enough, if you (BluesS) get enough complaints, you run an election for a new assistant admin.

Yep, that's part of the deal. Being a mod isn't a permanent status and can be revoked under a few conditions. The goal though is to pick people who we won't have problems with.
