Tony and I were discussing how much I miss the old Bemani get-togethers that used to happen back in the "old" scene, and I realized that there's no reason we can't have some of that now. Combine that with the fact that we now have a Pop'n Fever, and it kinda makes our place prime Bemani hangout real estate. So I was thinking - would anybody be interested in semi-regular casual gettogethers in our home, where we all just sat around and played Bemani, assorted other strange video games, and maybe some board games? I'm thinking less a giant blow-out bash and more like we all agree on a day of the week where, a couple of times a month during some several hour window, people just show up and play until we have to kick them out.

Any ideas? Games you'd like to play?

Bumping this thread because, due to the upcoming BIMP tournament, all you guys need to know about a "special" Laura and Tony Bemani houseparty, namely the one that's going to occur immediately after we finish the tourney and get some food.

When: Saturday, June 27th - After the tournament. Probably around 8-9 PM. Will continue into the middle of the night...

What: Bemani fest! Bring anything you want to play. We have lots of stuff here. We also have TONS of alcohol if you're of legal age, and TONS of syrups for delicious italian sodas if you're not, or just don't want to mess up your timing. Wink Please note that if you opt to drink, we're going to take your keys until you're sober. Safety measure due to past experience.

There will also be board games like Citadels if you're Tada/into that kind of stuff. Wink

lol "if you're Tada".

If I can find a place to crash for the night for me and 1 or 2 friends (depending on whether Steven comes or not), I'll be at this shindig.  Any PSP games I should acquire beforehand which people will be playing at this?  I've got MHP2G and will (hopefully) have MHFU in 6 days.  I'll also bring my suddenly-functional laptop, and I'll be down for some Civ 2 multiplayer, Warlords 3, Warlords Battlecry, Diablo 2 (assuming my characters haven't all expired), NWN, or random arcade games on MAME.  I don't know if I'll be able to fit my DDR pad in the trunk, or if I'll have a 2nd one finished by then.  If I do, I'd be happy to bring those for some doubles or just for an additional set to play DDR on.  If they fit in the bottom of the trunk, it's just another 20 lbs which will occupy 2" of horizontal space.  A little more if I bring the bars.

So back to the initial issue: anyone want to offer up some floorspace for a couple of young southern genitalmen?

I'd be down for this.

1) Might need to crash there and bus home the next day.

2) PYL TOURNEY!

If enough people need to crash, why not just have a 24 hour party? I'd be totally down for a 9pm-9am bemani party. I do not need sleep very often. Grin

That totally works for me.  I usually don't go to sleep before 6am anyway.  I'll need to ask Steven about it though since he'd be driving the 200+ miles home. Tongue

Our building claims they'll be cracking down on nighttime noise as a result of recent issues (quiet hours are technically something like 10-9, but I think people only care in the 12-6 range).  This does not affect people coming and playing all night, but no 5am primal screaming sessions.

Okay, I'll get my primal screaming in before 10 I guess. ;P
