July 28, 2007, 09:55:29 AM - ORIGINAL POST -

This is tentative, but, seeing as though Elisa, Phylicia and I will be in the area post-Daft Punk on Monday, we might drop by ACME sometime around noon. I actually haven't run that by them yet, but I don't think it's too out of the way to take an hour at ACME and catch up with peeps. I haven't seen most of you guys in months!

I will probably be better by that time, and will probably of course go.

So... does anyone know if Pop'n is running at ACME yet?  Also... I believe 13 includes all the ee'mall 2nd ave songs.  I don't know if they are in the game, or just will ee'mall... but if they are in an unlocked game, it'll be rad to play all these songs.  Fever lacks the 2nd ave songs.

GW > Acme.

I'll believe that when Kevin says their staff has become knowledgeable, friendly, and not sociopathic. Oh, and when their pads are good.

So I guess we'll be there alone Sad

acme's staff is no better than gamework's. i'm gonna have to agree with tada although this is because gameworks has more of the games i like ;p

What games do they have? I remember them having shitty Extreme and/or shitty SN.

GFDM11/10, good enough SN (I have AAAd stuff on it), bad EX and USA, Pop'n Music FEVARRRRRRRRRRR, and Taiko no Tatsujin 9. Also, Dance Maniax 1st, which is distinctly missing Virtual Mind.

Also I actually can make it to Acme on Monday. Let me know if you're going still!

Uhh yeah, Tony, Laura, DMN, Mike, and myself all will (probably) be working. But I'm sure you know how to have fun without us.

We're probably gonna stop by Acme tomorrow, but we're going to Narrows first so. 12-1PM most likely.

I still think I'm only going to GW if I go to any arcade tomorrow.

Maybe my experiences are vastly different, but I like GW's staff a lot better than Acme's.

at least it's something other than "our bemani is outdated" every post now.  at least it's a new rant.  of course i'm sure i'll be sick of reading it in a couple more days, but at least...

Tada, I think your most successful argument is just to say "Acme=further away and same/less bemani than GW; and I tend to like the staff at GW more."  I myself don't see anything special about the staff at either Acme or GW (with the obvious exception of Mr. Masterman and his vending buddies; but in terms of stationary staff I think Narrows has the best) but it's clear to me it ruffles people's feathers when you make your decision based on staff.  Plus, I think we are all well aware of it by now.  Just take it easy and go have fun at GW.

Narrows staff is pretty chill now that you mention it. I've noticed that too.

Yeah, uh, from what I've heard from Kevin the staff at GW are total assholes. Not just irresponsible and incompetent, but also assholes. I think he said he saw a staff member playing Guitar Freaks, and they looked at him and said "do you want to play?" and he said "yes," and they said "well too bad." I mean, I've never had anything near that bad at ACME. They're short on patience and attention, but they're not bastards.

I don't know who is perpetuating the rant more now; you or him.

As for the GW staff issue; I have heard from Kevin about it but it seemed to me like that was one person being a jerk; or is this a seperate and isolated incident from the Pop'N music one?  In any case, people are still going to GW so the staff must not throw them off too much.

I really don't think GW staff as a whole sucks.  They don't.  They have a few bad apples, but as a whole they're not bad.

The exact same can be said about ACME, really.

I don't know about everyone else, but my bad Acme experiences have been with security and security only - they're annoying and shouldn't need to be avoided, but they can be avoided.  Rob (Operations Manager) still says hi every time I go and the staff is generally pleasant.  GW possibly has fewer bad staff members (my issue was with the three techs on duty at that time, Kevin's incident was with a tech), but they're people we have to deal with all the time if we want... functional machines.  I don't know how anyone is complaining about all of the staff members as a whole (hell, I don't remember any complaints about Acme staff other than security until GW got their Bemani... besides when the front desk loathed giving change to everyone but me back around opening).  So yeah, exactly what James just said.
