Man, I should have thought about this date a little earlier. An epic tourny could have happened haha.
Well anyways, much like Laura's little get together this thursday I figure next friday might be a cool day to go to acme and celebrate what day? that's right

The 20th of November!

Edit: and the most important thing? a time of when to show up hahahaha, I can't believe I forgot that *face palm*

How about 6 p.m.? everyone cool with that?

I was actually going to try and organize this, but you beat me to it! I'm totally down Cheesy

Edit: I think we should have an impromptu, Supernova Freestyle tournament on this date :O

Edit 2: By impromptu I mean freestyle ON SHUFFLE or something like that so it's obvious that you didn't plan it in advance.

Hell, I'd give a shiny quarter to see someone pull of a good scripted routine. But that's not very likely to happen.

I certainly don't have what it takes to script a routine.

You wouldn't be able to do that on a random song very well at all...

Still! Freestyle tourny would be fun. You could pick any song EXCEPT!

Dynamite Rave (HELL FREAKIN NO!)

Hey, I just wanted to say that it's really cool that you guys try to get people together to play. I've been sad that the ddr/itg community has been dying out, so it's nice to know that there's still people out there.

Hey Hollie,

Welcome to the community site. It was nice meeting you and the guy who was with you tonight. We tried to plan tonight's get-together in hopes that more people would show up, but it was still fun with who was there. Smiley

The link for tonight's get-together was http://www.pnwbemani.net/smf/index.php?topic=812.msg18843#new
and this is the thread for the next one.

I was never able to play no bra, not even in the 3rd Mix days. Sad

So to elaborate on my above posts about a freestyle tournament, what do you guys think about R21ing 5 or 6 of the most "overdone" oldschool songs and having a simple "tournament" where each player pays for his or her credit, the people watching "judge" the freestyling, and the winner gets free dinner from the rest of us or something?

I'm chill with that.

So the song list is basically something like:

Dynamite Rave
Dam Dariram
Brilliant 2U(Orchestra Mix)

haha I can't think of two others sadly.

Be In My Paradise, R3, Daikenkai, and Trip Machine ~Climax~.

At least those are the ones that are HELLA overdone in Portland.

Word on R3. If I have to see another half-assed bar hop I'm gonna punch someone.

And here I was just thinking about how boring today has been. I could have been up there in Tukwila this whole time! (I only just now realized it is/was November 20th... and it's midnight of the 21st now.... fml...)

Aww, too bad you missed it!

There was 14 of us that showed up from the forums, and we had a pretty good time. Smiley  We decided to do the impromptu, shuffle freestyle tournament.

Entrants were Kevin (Keby), Travis (Let's Groove Tournaments organizer, Eric, myself, and Tada joined part way through.

Laura and Sara were the judges who picked the songs each of us had to play, and they picked the top 2 to move on to a dance-off. Eric and I moved on, and 3 songs later Laura and Sara made a close call and I was victorious of the first 20, November impromptu freestyle tournament. Smiley It wasn't a huge deal for everyone, but everyone who participated seemed to have a really fun time with it. The prize was a freestyle badge on the forums, so I'll be making that up sometime soon.

But overall a really fun get-together that will hopefully be repeated again before 20, November of 2010.

Sad, wish I could have made it. I ended up going to narrows and that was very fail. Machine wouldnt read my usb drive, a bunch of little teens were messing with the pads and no one else was there. Sad to see narrows be so dead.

Friday was definitely real fun at ACME. I recognized a friend of mine I play ITG/DDR with a good deal. I was the guy in the ddrfreak t shirt playing the itg set with maggie. Quite a good turnout (lots of quarters in line). And saw Keby, laura, and many others I have still to get to know formally. But I've seen in the tournaments. I liked how it turned out and will definitely be doing this 11/10/10. Was 20, November played on the DDR machine?
