I'm prolly going to college in Vic in a couple years; do you know how Victoria's Didder scene is?
Am I going to have to teach everyone how to play?

If you go to Canada you might have to settle for payment in foreign money, which isn't bad dude (seriously, the loonies and twonies ain't that bad; heck I prefer $1 donominations to be in coinage rather than bills anyhow).

Yeah, I know, but it's gonna take me forever to get used to 20 bucks being 16 and a half bucks.
It'll be like instant inflation. xP

http://www.bankofcanada.ca/en/rates/exchange.html
using that converter
CAN $20 = USD $20.04
or
USD $20 = CAN $19.96

Things have changed due to a sucky US economy and a good CAN economy.

Yeah, there are definately some benefits to certain foreign currency. I'm definately a fan of the Japanese currency. Although its is a little strange getting used to it. When I first got here, it didn't feel like you were spending money, it felt like play money.

But the currency is definately cooler. You hardly ever get really low yen back in a change like in the states where you don't know what to do with all those gay pennies, but occasionally you get these plastic like 1 yen coins back, but not very often. The lowest paper bill they have is 1000 yen(500 yen bill is out of print), which is about $10. Then a 500 Yen coin, 100 yen coin, 50 yen coin(usually DDR is 100 or 50 yen), 10 yen coin, 5 yen coin, and what we like to call, the yenni. Exchange rates fluxuates up and down constantly. Usually around 110 to 120 yen to the dollar.

Going the other way, next is the 2000 yen bill, 5000 yen bill, 10000 yen bill, and then I'm not too sure after that. I think there is a 20000 and 50000 yen bill, but they're uncommon, and might not be in print. Like there used to be a $500 bill, but its out of print.

When I posted that (about a year ago), it was accurate. Tongue

Me, Sumner (BemaniFreak) and potentially a few others plan on making a trip to Vancouver March 20th-22nd (next week, wow). Is there anyone willing to hook us up with a place to crash? Thanks much

Still considering a move up here sometime, Tofu? I don't think you have to worry about teaching us how to play. Wink (Though...when I moved here in 2006 players weren't exactly...top tier...things have really changed a LOT in the past 3 years)

Pretty unlikely at this point; I've grown too attached to Portland over the last couple years...even if it only has one cool arcade left. Tongue

If for some odd reason, you hadn't noticed - there's a post in the events forum regarding the conference to be held in Vancouver this August.
