Pump It Up: Pro 2 - BETA FEEDBACK

So since the game is still going to be in beta form at Power Play, please post any feedback you have regarding the game, charts, etc... and Chris Danford will check it out.

The more feedback now, the better the release can be. Smiley

I know this doesn't have to do with Pro 2, but theres a new TX cabinet being shown in China right now...

also it's nostalgic to see some of those Oldie but Goldie DDR songs slip their way into the game. Got to love Operator and Cowgirl haha.
Word. Operator is my favorite old-school DDR song and I flipped out when I heard it on this machine. I still haven't had a chance to play that song. T_T

Re: Pump It Up: Pro 2 - BETA FEEDBACK

FINALLY got to play this since I just got moved into redmond.

LOVE IT!
I love the final song list. It's incredibly diverse. This game feels like it has made it's own in the PIU series. I like how there are some ITG crossovers. It's interesting to see how those songs are stepped compared to 4 panel.
So much more original songs! Diskowarp's stuff is great! also it's nostalgic to see some of those Oldie but Goldie DDR songs slip their way into the game. Got to love Operator and Cowgirl haha.

The charts are a lot better than the first game. There is a better learning curve I think.

My only complaint is that the cabinet speakers are not that great. That's a manufacturer problem though so it's no big deal. If we really wanted to we could probably switch them out with some boobing BOSE!!!

Re: Pump It Up: Pro 2 - BETA FEEDBACK

When I was there last weekend, all background videos (ie: not just yours) were disabled. I wonder if this was to prevent the annoying stuttering issue that was occasionally occurring?
Chris patched the Power Play machine on Sunday; background videos are once again functional.

I finally played this and I noticed an odd stuttering in a few of the menus.

lol the machine at Beaverton Bi Gals was stuttering constantly, not just in the menus. It's a known issue and should be patched (maybe before the place even officially opens on Monday?)

Also, does anyone know if the videos I provided for Sexy Vampire/DBB/UFO Catcher are still in the game?  Someone said that they were gone from one of the builds, so hopefully they got that fixed.

Anyone know what the name of the song is at the intro screen for PiU1 & 2? Is it by Kyle Ward?

Re: Pump It Up: Pro 2 - BETA FEEDBACK

4th time playing and you can do 10s? That's nutz! Playing no-bar makes it way more difficult with the added variety of crossovers that PiU has over DDR/ITG. I keep getting confused and will miss sets of 5 arrows or more in a row because I zigged when I should've zagged.

Re: Pump It Up: Pro 2 - BETA FEEDBACK

The P1 arrow selections worked just fine today, and I love the added songs :]
Option selections sounded audibly quieter (by a bit). I was going to concur with Null about the previous noise, but it's no longer a problem I think.

Embarrassed Didn't know there was a USB option..

Only two things sort of annoyed me with the most recent changes/updates. Presently none of the videos appear during the songs which had videos, such as Oh Oh Sexy Vampire and Deadbeat Boyfriend. And now all the song/option selection screens have a relatively quick countdown timer. This wouldn't be an issue if there were only like 30 songs, but for the newbies who'd like to scroll through all the songs at least once, this is no longer possible. Myself being a newbie on my forth session of playing Pump ever, I got stuck with random song a few different times.

Overall, I still really like this machine. 10s and 11s are still kinda hard to me to read. Heh

Re: Pump It Up: Pro 2 - BETA FEEDBACK

Option selection sounds are too loud.
"Vintage" skin is transparent (check NXA and Fiesta to see the updated version).
NX skin receptors are outdated.
Starting with three blue dots to count stages would be better.
USBs can't be read after about five games.
A lot of BGA videos have stuttering playback (Canon-D is very noticeable).
Cycling through difficulties is confusing when the order is different between 1P
and 2P.
Full Combo animation would be better if it happened as the last note is hit, like in beatmania.
"Machine Best" etc result graphics are really bland.

In regards to this particular machine, 1P right selection arrow is still messed up, 1P DR arrow left sensor should be adjusted, and 2P UR arrow should be looked at.

Re: Pump It Up: Pro 2 - BETA FEEDBACK

Awesome game so far, but I had to share a quick note before it gets lost in the ether: The sound effects that play when you navigate the modifier select menus make my ears bleed. They're really loud and piercing, I will often literally plug my ears when navigating those menus. It would be awesome if we could have those turned down... A lot.

Also, the left and right menu buttons still stick badly when both players are present, but not at all if only 2P. Is present It seems like some sort of state issue.

Thank you very much and keep up the great work!

I guess the routine chart is new then?

it's hard to tell what was added and what was old, since there wasn't much added.

Oh! that one song we played called GO
that was an old license right?
Yeah, Chris said that probably wasn't supposed to be there though. XD Some other licenses snuck on too, like Funky Tonight.

I can't remember all of them. It wasn't a huge update. I know Tribe Attacker by Canblaster was added. That's sadly the only one I can remember right now.\

Cowgirl has a different chart now I believe...or at least they told it was going to get a whole new chart eventually.

Oh they didn't erase any of the scores this time, so all of them are still there.

Re: Pump It Up: Pro 2 - BETA FEEDBACK

One thought that a few players and I had was to add pad inputs for changing difficulty.  Currently, the left selection arrow on the 1P side of the machine is broken, so if you go down in difficulty, there is no way to go back up.  I think these kinds of buttons break fairly easily, so it might be nice to have an alternative way to go back up in difficulty.

Chris is going to fix it so the selection will wrap around to the first one after enough presses. While inconvenient, it will solve this problem when buttons break.

Also, a couple new songs have been added. Go check them out.

And

*drum roll*

my favorite new add is the pink fuzzy bunnies routine chart.

It's a legit 20 footer. It takes 4 people to to play it. It was so fun, but so hard hahaha

Okay this game is pretty awesome. I'd like to see a real CZ (non-joke) chart for Wham Bam Boogie, though.

Re: Pump It Up: Pro 2 - BETA FEEDBACK

It needs more speed mods.  The highest that it goes is 4x.  I often times play on 4.5x when the bpm is lower than 130.  Also, the speed mods are only every .5  when it would be really nice if they were every .25.  There is a big difference between 2.5x and 3x (as well as the other speed mods), and it would be nice to have something in between.  C600 would be nice as well.

Re: Pump It Up: Pro 2 - BETA FEEDBACK

I meant to ask this before, but is USB card support disabled at the moment? None of my cards work.

Also, some of the graphics used at the bottom of the screen (like "Press [green button] to continue" or whatever) have lines at the top.
